The Journey of Renewal Part 1

A New Heart A New Mind

Push play if you rather listen, for faith comes by hearing. Enjoy!

The Holy Spirit has been speaking to me lately about what it means to have a new heart and mind. I was able to have a spiritual heart transplant, and mind revitalization by the power of The Holy Spirit, as a result of a very extraordinary meeting with God. Because of this spiritual surgery I now operate in a very different manner. It’s amazing how much my perception, feeling, and understanding of things has changed. My desire has changed from spending less time with things of the world to spending more time with God. I’ve even stopped eating meat and certain other foods as a result of this. Well, I had spent a few weeks on a spiritual fast from all foods except fruits, vegetables, nuts, and water, so this selective diet was a precursor to my experience. It’s just felt so good to live like this that it’s become a way of life for me now. I’m not suggesting that this is a requirement for everybody desiring to get closer to God, but denying my flesh has done just that for me.

But if I may. Well, I will as this is my blog. Fasting was common in the Bible for men and women of God, in order to draw closer to God and obtain insight and direction from Him or His messengers. To be honest, choosing to live this way has also made me feel much less blood thirsty. Lol! I’m still going to hold on to both of my swords though. Regardless, I’ve observed that I’ve become a calmer and more introspective person. Interestingly, I’m also more aware of the signs of the times, like the sons of Issachar, as Jesus taught.

I Chronicles 12:32 NKJV

Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

Matthew 16:3-4 NKJV

And in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Despite the fact that the world is in complete disorder, everything appears – strong emphasis on appears – to be business as usual. It is like being in the Matrix knowing that things are not cool, yet everyone is behaving like it is. Makes me wanna just, get out! As a result, God has warned me to be careful with the new heart and mind he has given me. That I must guard it with all diligence. New things in this world are easily polluted. That as His artisan, I must do all the things that He has master worked me to do, being careful to not get bogged down by the cares of this world. That this is a one-time opportunity. As people of the world have chosen, and even many in the body of Christ to seek a one shot to vain glory. I desire to use the one chance I have in my life to glorify God. My desire is to hear those sweet words from my Savior Jesus, “Well done good and faithful servant, come into my rest.” My prayer is that by blogging, I might assist others like you develop a connection with Jesus or improve your relationship with Him. That by the wisdom and insight He is downloading into my new mind, I can lead others into greater understanding of our Creator. I am not claiming to have all the answers in the seeking of The Most High, for I am only one temple of the Holy Spirit, yet that same Holy Spirit does have all the answers, and is willing to speak through any who would allow Him to use them. I am willing to allow Him to take me deeper, are you?  Are you willing to go past all we have known practicing idolatry, rituals, religion and get into the depths of God’s word? In doing so we discover His heart, His mind, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us on this journey. That in these last days true believers of Jesus will only function by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 NKJV
